The country passed the depressing milestone of two crore on May 4, 3, and 25 of last year, and it surpassed three crore on January 25 of this year.

Digital Desk: Despite a constant rise in COVID-19 cases, India reported 16,935 new cases and 51 deaths in the previous 24 hours on Sunday, a low number compared to the days before. Yesterday, more than 20,000 illnesses and 49 fatalities were reported across the country.

The number of coronavirus cases in India hit 20 lakh on August 7, 30, 40, and 50 lakh on August 23, September 5, and September 16, respectively. On September 28, October 11, October 29, October 30, November 20, and December 19, the thresholds of 60 lakh, 70 lakh, 80 lakh, 90 lakh, and 1 crore were all exceeded.
