Bhopal: Madhya Pradesh is facing a severe covid situation with bodies piling up every day and crematoriums, graveyards getting overcrowded. Amidst this there is a major inconsistency in the government data regarding coronavirus deaths.

In Bhopal, 94 COVID-19 bodies were cremated in one crematorium alone but state government data cites only 3. 

Madhya Pradesh recorded 12,727 new cases on Tuesday taking the overall CORONAVIRUS tally to 4,33,704. The state has so far recorded 4,713 deaths.

Reports of a widening gap between the numbers of CORONAVIRUS-related deaths are also coming from other states. As per the media reports, people in the state have to wait for three to four hours for the cremation and few unfortunate ones cannot even perform the last rites due to lack of space in the cremation ground.
