Digital desk: Following the disturbing murder case in Kahilipara, Guwahati, where a CRPF Jawan was strangled by his wife and her lover, the police have now reached out to the child welfare committee (CWC) to assume custody of the couple's two children.

Ditumoni Haloi and Hiramoni, married for 14 years, were residing in Kahilipara when the tragic incident unfolded. Reports reveal that Ditumoni, a CRPF jawan posted mostly in Manipur, returned home to find his wife with her lover, identified as Arup Das. The discovery led to a fatal confrontation, resulting in Ditumoni's death.

According to police statements, the couple's two sons witnessed the murder and recounted how their mother and her partner conspired to kill their father. The assailants allegedly used a bath towel for strangulation before taking the body to Gauhati Medical College and Hospital (GMCH).
