Assam Government officially appoints Gold Medalist Nayanmoni Saikia as the Deputy Superintendent of Police...

Digital Desk: Commonwealth Games Gold medallist Nayanmoni Saikia was formally appointed as the Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) by the Assam Government on Saturday. Assam chief minister Himanta Biswa Sarma handed over the letter of appointment to the 29-year-old Lawn Bowl player at Janata Bhawan in Dispur.

Notably, the DSP post was a reward for her fine showing at the Commonwealth Games. 
Moreover, she was also awarded by giving a cheque of Rs. 50 lakhs for her excellent performance.

Nayanmoni is a part of the Indian Women's team that made history by winning the gold medal in Lawn Bowl at the Commonwealth Games in Birmingham in 2022. The team of Rupa Rani Tirkey, Pinki, Nayanmoni Saikia, and Lovely Choubey won the medal by defeating South African players.
