Digital Desk: Cyclone Biparjoy made landfall with winds speeds of 50–60 kmph on Gujarat's coast at about 6.30 p.m., according to India's top weather official. Reportedly, the state administration has shifted around one lakh people living near the coast as a precautionary measure and mobilized disaster management teams for rescue and relief efforts.

Wind speeds are expected to range between 125 and 150 kmph as Cyclone Biparjoy travels further inland, according to India Meteorological Department chief M Mohapatra.

This will be the second cyclone that hits the state in two years, after 'Tauktae' in May 2021.
