Delhi Police and Delhi Metro had been asked to take strict action against the offender by the Delhi Commission for Women.

Digital Desk: The head of the Delhi Commission for Women, Swati Maliwal, expressed grave worry on Friday on a social media video that went viral showing a young guy allegedly masturbating on a Delhi Metro while others looked embarrassed and moved away.

Maliwal said on Twitter that she has issued a notice to the Delhi Police and Delhi Metro to take strict punishment for the "shameful act".

Maliwal tweeted, “Came across a viral video where a man can be seen shamelessly masturbating in Delhi Metro. It is disgusting and sickening. I am issuing a notice to Delhi Police and Delhi Metro to ensure the strictest possible action against this shameful act.”

The disturbing social media video shows a young man allegedly masturbating on the Delhi Metro while others around him are visibly uncomfortable and moving away. The young man is seen watching something on a mobile phone.

The incident was captured on video by another commuter, who did not intervene to stop the perpetrator.

This is not the first occurrence of this kind to happen on the Delhi Metro; just last week, a video went viral showing a woman riding the train in a bra and miniskirt. Although the DMRC has advised commuters to observe social conventions and protocol, the woman in the video argued that those who shot the video should be subject to the same restrictions on recording on trains.
