Guwahati: As the CBSE announced the cancellation of class 10 Board exams and postponement of Class 12 Board exams due to the alarming rise in the number of covid cases, the state education board of Assam is yet to decide the fate of its students as voices continue to rise for the cancellation of the exams.

Speaking to the media on the issue of the impending state board exams, the education minister, Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma said, the current government doesn’t want to take any decision on the rescheduling of examinations while the election commission’s mode of code of conduct is still in force.

As of now, there is no plan of postponing the examinations, Sarma reiterated.

Sarma hinted that a decision will likely be taken once the Assam Assembly election results are declared on May 2.
