Digital Desk: A man's decomposed body was found inside a locked room on Friday in the Beltola area of Guwahati.
According to initial reports, the deceased person's decomposing body was discovered at his rental property near the Beltola market.
The deceased was identified as Shahnawaz Malik. He was renting a home in Beltola along with his father.
After his father went to Bihar, Shahnawaz was residing alone in the rented house.
The deceased reportedly owned and operated S Shoe Sine in Beltola.
Meanwhile, a team of police officers from the Dispur Police Station arrived at the scene of the incident and started an investigation.
It is still unclear at this point whether the death was caused by suicide or homicide.
