Two days ago, the official trailer of her upcoming film 83 got released. The movie will take viewers through the inspirational journey of the Indian cricket team's first World Cup win under the captaincy of Kapil Dev in 1983. The trailer of the film received positive reviews from the audience.

The trailer highlighted a few glimpses at Deepika's role in the movie, as she supports the lead role through times of disturbance and even victories.
Former Indian cricketer Kapil Dev commented on Deepika's role in the movie. After the release of the trailer, Dev said his family had mixed feelings regarding the role of his Romi in the movie.
Dev said," "I think mixed because I don't know how much the role of my wife is in 83, so one does not realize that what they are trying to do there."
Kapil additionally called Ranveer a 'great actor' and seemed fascinated by his performance in the movie.
83 will release in theaters on December 24, 2021. The movie got delayed more than two years due to the pandemic.
