Digital Desk: On December 30, Air India Express will launch its inaugural trip from Delhi to Ayodhya, Uttar Pradesh. The temple town will have direct air-to-air contact with the national capital for the first time. The first daily direct flights will take place on January 16, 2024.


The news comes as the Ram Temple in Ayodhya prepares to be consecrated on January 22, 2024.


Air India Express announced on Wednesday that the first flight IX 2789 will depart from Delhi at 11 a.m. and touchdown in Ayodhya at 12:20 p.m. IX 1769 is expected to leave Ayodhya at 12:50 pm and arrive in Delhi at 2:10 pm.


The airline has announced a timetable for daily nonstop flights between Ayodhya and Delhi, with reservations accessible via its mobile app and website airindiaexpress.com, as well as other major booking platforms.


The airfield permit for the future Ayodhya airport, which has been created at a cost of roughly Rs 350 crore by the Airports Authority of India (AAI), was awarded on December 14 by aviation regulator Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA).


On December 8, Civil Aviation Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia stated that the Ayodhya airport will be finished by the end of the month and that Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate it.
