Digital Desk: Delhi police suspended traffic police who had fined a Korean national 5,000 but failed to provide a receipt for the amount, underlining the fact that it has zero tolerance towards corruption. 

The incident's video is now in wide circulation. 

The Korean man is instructed to pay 5,000 by the officer for an alleged traffic violation, the cop identified as Mahesh Chand. The man offers the cop ₹ 500, the video shows. 

The officer clarifies that it is 5,000 instead of 500. The man quickly gives the officer the required amount, they shake hands, and the officer thanks him, the video shows. 

Taking to Twitter, Delhi p[olice wrote, "Taking cognizance of the social media post, the concerned officer seen in the video has been placed under suspension pending inquiry.”

"Delhi Police has a zero-tolerance policy towards corruption," it further stated.

In his defence, the now-suspended officer claims that the Korean man left before he could give him the receipt.
