Digital Desk: Former Railways Minister Lalu Prasad, his wife and former Bihar Chief Minister Rabri Devi, along with their son, Bihar Deputy Chief Minister Tejashwi Yadav, have been granted bail in the high-profile 'land-for-jobs' case. The Delhi Rouse Avenue Court issued the order on Wednesday, directing all the accused to furnish a bail bond worth Rs. 50,000.

The 'land-for-jobs' case revolves around alleged appointments made in the railways in exchange for land parcels gifted or sold to Prasad's family during his tenure as the Minister of Railways between 2004 and 2009.

The decision to grant bail was made by Delhi court Special Judge Geetanjali Goel following the accused's appearance in court in response to the summons issued against them. The court had summoned them on September 22, taking cognizance of the charge sheet filed against them and other accused. The charge sheet indicated "prima facie" evidence of various offenses, including corruption, criminal conspiracy, cheating, and forgery.

The investigating agency had filed the charge sheet on July 3, marking a significant development in the alleged scam investigation.
