In a money laundering case involving alleged irregularities in the now-scrapped Delhi excise policy, the Delhi High Court on Thursday declined...

Digital Desk: The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI), which is looking into the Excise policy issue and has for the first time mentioned the AAP leader in its chargesheet, has extended the former Delhi Deputy CM Manish Sisodia's judicial custody until May 12 at Delhi's Rouse Avenue Court.

The Enforcement Directorate (ED) opposed Sisodia's petition for relief, alleging the inquiry was at a "crucial" stage and that the senior AAP leader had planted forged e-mails to show there was popular support for the policy. A new piece of evidence supporting his involvement in the suspected crime has been discovered, according to the federal agency.

In a money laundering case involving alleged irregularities in the now-scrapped Delhi excise policy, the Delhi High Court on Thursday declined to extend the interim bail of liquor businessman Sameer Mahendru on medical grounds.

The high court ruled that Mahendru must appear in person before jail officials on May 1 and stated that the practice of granting temporary bail cannot be turned into an "evergreening process" or used in place of regular bail.
