Delhi government's 10-day theatre festival aims to introduce the next generation to the world of acting over the...

Digital Desk: Great opportunity for Children as they will get the chance to study acting and other theatre skills from experts from the National School of Drama (NSD) as part of a festival planned by the Delhi government beginning June 15, authorities announced on Friday.

During summer vacation, the 10-day theatre festival aims to introduce the next generation to the world of acting.

From June 15 to 25, the Delhi Tourism Department will collaborate with the National School of Drama (NSD) to conduct the festival at Gandhi Smriti and Darshan Samiti near Rajghat.

Children aged 8 to 16 from Delhi and beyond are welcome to attend the session for free.

"We've already begun registration for the theatre workshop." It has already received applications from 150 students. "We will accept registration from 250 students, of which 150 will be chosen for the workshop," said a tourism department official.

The applications will be chosen on June 12, and the final list of candidates will be announced on June 13.

"We will organise the staging of six children's plays." There would be no admission fee, and youngsters may come from anywhere. This will aid in tourism promotion, according to the official.

Six children's plays will be exhibited as part of the festival from June 19 to 24.
