In connection with the liquor policy case, the ED had earlier on September 6 searched more than 35 places in Delhi and other cities.

Digital Desk: As many as 40 locations in several cities are being searched by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) in relation to the alleged Delhi liquor policy scam.

Searches are being conducted in Chennai, Hyderabad, Bengaluru, and Mangaluru.

In connection with the liquor policy case, the ED had earlier on September 6 searched more than 35 places in Delhi and other cities.

The homes of people who work in the alcohol industry were searched, including producers who were reportedly involved in the creation of the new liquor police in Delhi that the AAP government is enforcing.

The Delhi Excise Policy, released by the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) government in November 2021, is the subject of an investigation by the ED for suspected irregularities in its creation and implementation.

The decision has now been reversed.
The FIR submitted by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) in the liquor policy case served as the foundation for the ED's investigation.

It is to be noted that the deputy chief minister of Delhi and a few bureaucrats are implicated in the CBI FIR over the liquor policy scandal.

All claims of problems and corruption in the execution of the now-defunct booze policy have been denied by Manish Sisodia and the AAP.
