Digital Desk: According to authorities, a man working as a labourer in Delhi would get high on drugs, view pornographic films, then go in search of youngsters to sexually attack and finally kill. He was only 18 years old when he invented this technique in 2008. And he murdered 30 children over the next seven years, till 2015.

He was convicted today of kidnapping, murder, and physical abuse on a 6-year-old child. The police who nabbed the offender, Ravindra Kumar, in the outside Delhi area in 2015, have demanded the harshest possible penalty.

Ravindra will be sentenced within the following two weeks by the court.

Ravindra Kumar, an 18-year-old from Kasganj in Uttar Pradesh, travelled to Delhi in quest of work in 2008. His father was a plumber, while his mother was a housekeeper.

Ravindra became addicted to drugs shortly after arriving in Delhi and obtained a pornographic film on video tape. Soon after, he developed a terrifying routine.

According to the police, Ravindra Kumar would work as a labourer all day and then get drunk in the evening. He would sleep in his slum room between 8 p.m. and midnight before waking up and going in search of youngsters.

He'd go up to 40 km through construction sites and slums hunting for prey.

He would entice the children with 10-rupee notes and chocolates and take them to a remote location. The youngest victim was six years old, and the oldest was twelve years old.

CAUGHT TWICE

Ravindra Kumar was apprehended by the Delhi Police in 2014 on suspicion of kidnapping, murder attempt, and physical abuse of a 6-year-old child.

After taking the youngster, he allegedly tossed her into a septic tank. Following this, the police apprehended him at the Sukhbir Nagar bus stand in Delhi's Rohini district in 2015, while investigating the case of the 6-year-old girl. Before apprehending Ravindra, the police examined material from dozens of CCTV cameras, questioned their informants, and finally caught Ravindra. He allegedly kidnapped the child, assaulted her physically, slashed her neck, and dumped her in a septic tank.

HIS PLAN

He raped and murdered a girl from Delhi's Karla neighbourhood in 2008. As he continued to give the cops the slip, he became emboldened and established a routine. He murdered the majority of his victims for fear of being identified. He would never do the same thing twice in the same spot for fear of being caught.

In 2015, Vikramjeet Singh, the DCP of the outer Delhi district, stated that while Ravindra Kumar was giving information about his crimes after being apprehended, he detailed each of them.
