The organizers of the first procession on April 16 were also charged with failure to get permission, according to Delhi Police.

Digital Desk: A 28-year-old man was detained by the Delhi police three days ago after he was seen carrying a gun during communal rioting in the city's Jahangirpuri district.

As reported, Communal violence erupted in the north Delhi suburb on Saturday, April 16, after a Hindutva procession allegedly intended to wave a saffron flag in front of a local mosque; Police had arrested 22 persons – all Muslims – for the incident by Sunday evening. Since then, reports claim that some Hindu men have been arrested.

According to Indian Express report, Delhi Police has also filed an FIR against the organizers of the original parade for allegedly failing to obtain authorization.

On Monday afternoon, a new wave of stone-pelting was recorded in the region, only days after community conflicts left many people injured.

Sonu alias Imam alias Yunus, a resident of C-Block in Jahangirpuri, was perhaps the most recent person apprehended, according to police.

On this incident, Deputy Commissioner of Police (Northwest) Usha Rangnani said- "A video was being circulated on social media platforms on Sunday, showing a man in a blue shirt opening fire during the riots Jahangirpuri. On Monday, he was apprehended by the special staff of the northwest district from Mangal Bazaar Road, and one sophisticated pistol was recovered from his possession."

Further, in this charge, the DCP said, "A case has been filed under section 25 of the Arms Act. During the event, Sonu admitted to firing his weapon near Kushal Chowk.

On Monday, Union Home Minister Amit Shah also urged the Delhi Police to take strong action against individuals involved in the Jahangirpuri riots. The Aam Aadmi Party, Delhi's ruling party, has blamed the violence on the Bharatiya Janata Party, Shah's organization.
