Dibrugarh University student found dead inside hostel room, suicide suspected

Dibrugarh: A student of Dibrugarh University was found dead in her hostel room today. 

The deceased, identified as Ranjita Chetri, was a resident of Lakhimpur’s Bihpuria and was a student of the Philosophy department.

The incident has created a stir in the University, especially among the hostellers of ‘Aaideu Handique Girls Hostel’ where the deceased used to reside.

The reason for the suicide is yet to be detected.

Meanwhile, police reached the spot and began interrogation into the incident.

Notably, last week a student of Tezpur University committed suicide by hanging herself in her hostel room. 

She was a resident of Dibrugarh and was studying M.Sc in Chemistry.
