Digital Desk: A horrifying incident occurred in Matiabag, Gauripur in Dhubri district, where a driver was brutally beaten to death over allegations of cement theft, followed by an attempt to disguise the murder as a suicide.


The shocking incident has sparked intense tension in Gauripur, with the victim's family demanding swift justice and strict punishment for the perpetrators.


The gruesome crime took place last night under the jurisdiction of Gauripur police station.


The victim, identified as 27-year-old Sanowar Hussain, a resident of Matiabag and a driver by profession, was allegedly assaulted to death and later hung from an electric tower by Kadam Ali and his father, both of whom are currently evading arrest.


Gauripur police arrived at the scene during the night and sent the body for a post-mortem examination at DMCH.


Local residents have accused Kadam Ali of leveraging close connections with the Gauripur police station to intimidate and terrorise the community, raising concerns about potential misuse of influence.


The victim's family has filed an FIR, but authorities have yet to apprehend the suspects.


The grieving family is calling for the immediate arrest and exemplary punishment of those responsible for the brutal murder.
