The incident occurred at the home of Jiyar Uddin, under the jurisdiction of Alopati Char Police Station in the Chenga constituency.
According to reports, sparks from wedding fireworks reportedly ignited the blaze, which quickly spread to the main house and an adjoining thatched shed. Within minutes, the flames had consumed the structures, destroying household items and property valued at over ₹2 lakh.
The sudden fire turned a festive occasion into chaos and grief. Local residents of the area rushed to the scene and tried to douse the flames, but the intensity of the fire caused extensive damage before it could be brought under control.
Authorities are investigating the incident, while the affected family reels from the sudden loss.
