Digital Desk: In two separate raids, troopers from the Assam Rifles and the Excise and Narcotics Department of Champhai, Mizoram, confiscated a large quantity of illegal drugs valued over Rs 54.79 crore.


The Assam Rifles, under Inspector General Assam Rifles (East), announced the recovery on Wednesday (July 26) in an official release. Based on particular intelligence, a combined team of Assam Rifles and the Customs Department carried out the operation.  


Troopers seized 94,940 meth pills in the Mualkawi area, and 87,720 meth tablets were recovered in the Khuangleng area during another operation.


The total shipment of Meth pills is said to be valued Rs 54,79,80,000. It was eventually turned over to the Excise and Narcotics Department in Champhai for additional legal action.
