Digital Desk: The Commander-in-Chief of the National Liberation Front of Bodoland (NLFB), Binod Mushahary alias M Batha, was detained by Assam Police from Kokrajhar on Thursday, as per reports that emerged on Thursday.

The NLFB declared a cease-fire in 2021, but after discovering that M Batha had founded a new extremist organization called the NLB in the Bodoland Territorial Council (BTC) and was extorting money, Udalguri police apprehended him from Kokrajhar on Wednesday, according to reports.

M Batha was living in a designated camp after surrendering in July 2021.

Earlier in the year 2021, news emerged that the NLFB was going to surrender; however, M Batha clarified that the outfit did not surrender to itself and reaffirmed that it was a proclamation of a cease-fire.

"We have only declared a cease-fire; we have not surrendered. "We came here to discuss some issues with Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma," Batha told reporters.
