The estimated market value of the seized ganja and Yaba tablets is approximately Rs3 crore
Digital Desk: Today, in a major anti-narcotics operation, a large quantity of ganja and Yaba tablets was seized from Boragaon in Guwahati.
The operation was carried out under the leadership of the Superintendent of Police of the West Guwahati Police District. A joint team of the Special Operations Group (SOG) and Gorchuk Police conducted the raid and recovered the contraband.
Police arrested one alleged drug trafficker in connection with the seizure. The accused has been identified as Riajul Ali, a resident of Kamalpur.
According to officials, the estimated market value of the seized ganja and Yaba tablets is approximately Rs3 crore. Preliminary investigation suggests that the contraband was transported to Guwahati from a neighbouring district for distribution.
The police also seized a Tata vehicle bearing registration number AS01TC4793, which was allegedly used for transporting the illegal substances.
Further investigation is underway.
