Komal Nahta, a trade analyst, also tweeted, "Another major movie, but the same plot is still present! Some theatres cancelled "Shamshera" matinee and noon/afternoon showings due to a lack of patrons."

Digital Desk: Ranbir Kapoor's eagerly anticipated action-drama "Shamshera," which marks his return to the big screen after a four-year absence, appears to have fallen flat with the public.

Even after weeks of strenuous promotion, the movie was unable to live up to the hype and saw a dismal opening of Rs 10.25 crore.

And now a report in the media, claims that numerous screenings of the movie had to be cancelled due to a lack of spectators in the theatres.

Komal Nahta, a trade analyst, also tweeted, "Another major movie, but the same plot is still present! Some theatres cancelled "Shamshera" matinee and noon/afternoon showings due to a lack of patrons."

The makers of "Shamshera," which had an estimated budget of Rs 150 crore, are now crossing their fingers for a respectable weekend box office haul and relying on word-of-mouth marketing.

The action of "Shamshera" takes place in the made-up city of Kaza, where a brutal authoritarian commander named Shuddh Singh imprisons, enslaves, and tortures a warrior tribe. This is the tale of a guy who was sold into slavery, who later rose to leadership positions and became a legend among his community. He never stops fighting for the independence and honour of his tribe. Shamshera is his name.

The action-packed, heart-pounding show takes place in the 1800s in the centre of India.

Vaani Kapoor plays a key role in the movie, which is also directed by Karan Malhotra. Aditya Chopra produced the action extravaganza, which is now available in Telugu, Tamil, and Hindi.
