Digital Desk: India's National Center for Seismology (NCS) reported a magnitude 4.1 earthquake near Ambikapur, Surguja district, Chhattisgarh.

The earthquake struck at 9:58 a.m. local time on Friday, March 24th, 2023, at a moderately shallow depth of 67.7 km.

The precise magnitude, epicentre, and depth of the quake may change in the next hours or minutes as seismologists evaluate data and update their calculations, or as other agencies issue their reports. 

Ambikapur with a population of 72,800 is located 25 kilometres from the epicentre, Baikunthpur is 45 kilometres away, Pathalgaon is 90 kilometres away, and Katghora is 95 kilometres away and is also expected to have felt the quake tremors. 

As per reports, no casualties have been reported yet.
