Digital Desk: The Election Commission of India (ECI) has announced the schedule for the upcoming Rajya Sabha elections, where two important seats will be contested in Assam.

The vacancies arose due to the election of Kamakhya Prasad Tasa and Sarbananda Sonowal to the Lok Sabha, creating the need for new Rajya Sabha representatives.

Candidates can begin submitting their nominations today, with the deadline set for August 21. The final dates for withdrawing nominations are August 26 and 27, ensuring a well-organized election process.

The voting for these Rajya Sabha seats is slated for September 3, with the results expected to be announced on the same day, allowing for a swift conclusion to the electoral process.
