Digital Desk: Election Commission of India (ECI) to hold three-day public hearings in Kalakshetra to discuss the Delimitation Draft.

According to an official release, the ECI aims to receive recommendations and objections about the draft proposal on the delimitation of Assembly and Parliamentary constituencies in Assam during the public hearing.

As per reports, the hearing will take place on July 19 at 2 p.m. at the Srimanta Sankaradeva Kalakshetra. Hearings on five districts, namely Kamrup (M), West Karbi Anglong, Chirang, Baksa, and Dima Hasao, will be held at Kalakshetra's international auditorium.

Meanwhile, the Kamrup district hearing will be held in auditorium hall number three. In addition, the Madhavdeva Auditorium will conduct a hearing on the districts of Udalguri, Karbi Anglong, and Kokrajhar.

Moreover, on July 20, the hearing on up to 13 districts will begin at 9.30 a.m. The international auditorium will hold discussions on Goalpara, Bongaigaon, Barpeta, Nalbari, Sonitpur, and Karimganj districts, while Hall 3 will offer discussions on four districts: Darrang, Hailakandi, Cachar, and South Salmara.

The hearing for Nagaon, Morigaon, and Dhubri districts will be held at the Madhavdeva Auditorium. At 3.30 p.m., all recognized political parties will gather to provide their perspectives on the issue.

Lastly, on July 21, the hearing on the remaining nine districts will begin at 9.30 a.m. and go until 12.30 p.m. Tinsukia, Dhemaji, and Lakhimpur will be hosted by the international auditorium, while Sivasagar and Jorhat will be hosted by Hall 3. The hearings on the districts of Dibrugarh, Charaideo, Golaghat, and Majuli will be held at the Madhavdeva Auditorium.
