The arrests highlight the unwavering commitment of the EGPD to curb drug trafficking in the region.

Digital Desk: In a significant crackdown, two drug traffickers were arrested by a combined force of the East Guwahati Police Department (EGPD) which united personnel from Jorabat Outpost together with Basistha Police Station. A joint police operation caught the two accused men Biru Boro from Nongpoh along with Gautam Das from Sonapur when they attempted to smuggle heroin.

Law enforcement officials obtained 36.50 grams of heroin by confiscating three tobacco boxes that conceled the items during the operation. The autorickshaw AS25DC3550 was confiscated during the investigation while carrying the drugs.

This case reveals that EGPD remains dedication to curb drug trafficking across their jurisdiction. Law enforcement agencies have enhanced their efforts to track down illegal narcotics and have implemented rapid detection and wreckage procedures for such illegal operations.

The police force plans more investigative steps to determine the original supplier and identify the entire smuggling ring. The swift and efficient action by the police reinforces their determination to keep the streets safe and free from the menace of drugs.

The law enforces this operation as a strong warning that protects consumers from illegal drug dealers.
