A group of citizens has been working in the area to restore its beauty with weekly clean-ups and disposal of plastics since November 2024.

Digital Desk: To encourage the spirit of cleanliness and hygiene and bid to make people aware of the need to keep the surroundings clean, students of Ascent Senior Secondary School, Beltola ignited with locals at the historic Dighalipukhuri, Guwahati.

A group of citizens has been working in the area to restore its beauty with weekly clean-ups and disposal of plastics since November 2024. Supporting the cleanliness initiative, the students of Ascent Academy Senior Secondary School joined the locals to raise awareness on preserving this historic rectangular-shaped man-made lake situated at the heart of Guwahati city.

The students also raised awareness by putting up handmade posters on different issues related to the environment, including the importance of safeguarding Dighalipukhuri for future generations, initiating conversations with visitors about waste disposal, etc.
