Digital Desk: Today, 15th March, the Election Commission of  India will announce the schedule for the upcoming Assembly elections in five states. The states going to polls include Assam, West Bengal, Kerala, Tamil Nadu, and the Union Territory of Puducherry.


The announcement will be made during a press conference at 4 PM by Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar. The briefing will outline the detailed election schedule for all five states.


Following the announcement, the Model Code of Conduct will come into immediate effect in the poll-bound states, marking the formal beginning of the election process.


The terms of the respective Legislative Assemblies in these states are set to end on different dates in May and June. Meanwhile, the final electoral rolls for the four states and the Union Territory of Puducherry have already been published as part of the Special Intensive Revision of the voters’ list.
