Addressing party workers at the Aam Aadmi Party headquarters, Kejriwal thanked to the Supreme Court for granting him interim bail.

Digital Desk: After the Lok Sabha elections concluded and his interim bail expired, Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal voluntarily surrendered himself at Tihar jail this evening. His journey was not straightforward, starting from his residence around 3 pm. He paid homage to Mahatma Gandhi at Rajghat, visited Hanuman Mandir, and then headed to the party headquarters before finally arriving at the jail, where he had been released on interim bail by the Supreme Court 21 days earlier.

Addressing party workers at the Aam Aadmi Party headquarters, Kejriwal thanked to the Supreme Court for granting him interim bail. He stressed that he made the most of every moment during those 21 days, engaging in campaigning for various parties and advocating for the nation's welfare. He described the experience as unforgettable.

Mr. Kejriwal highlighted a significant moment during the campaign when Prime Minister Narendra Modi acknowledged the absence of evidence against him. He criticized the Central government, denouncing its actions as dictatorial, especially questioning the detention of a Chief Minister without evidence, despite holding a significant majority.

Accompanied by his wife Sunita Kejriwal and several party leaders, including Delhi ministers Atishi, Kailash Gahlot, and Saurabh Bharadwaj, Mr. Kejriwal reaffirmed his opposition to what he perceived as dictatorship. Accused in the Delhi liquor policy case, Mr. Kejriwal had been in jail since April 1 until the Supreme Court granted him relief.

During his stint in Tihar, controversies emerged regarding his diabetes and medication, with his party alleging that authorities withheld his medication. Additionally, the Enforcement Directorate claimed that Mr. Kejriwal consumed inappropriate food for diabetics.

Expressing uncertainty about the treatment he might receive, Mr. Kejriwal reiterated his dedication to his cause, asserting that when power becomes dictatorial, jail becomes a duty, aligning himself with the principles of Bhagat Singh.
