Digital Desk: In a tragic incident, an elephant was found dead in Amlighat Sonaikusi Hills of Jagiroad. Locals first witnessed the scene. Forest Department officials and doctors reached the spot and made arrangements for the autopsy of the dead elephant.  The cause of the elephant's death has not come to light at this moment, but the forest department has reported that the exact cause will come to light only after the autopsy. The forest department has already arranged for the elephant's body to be buried. Also Read: Assam Covid-19 Update: Records 5,902 new cases, 18 casualties Earlier also 18 January two elephant cubs were found dead on a mound in Sonaikusi hills.  Today again, the news of the tragic death of the elephant in the Sonaikusi forest of Jagiroad, a wildlife beach, has saddened the conscious quarters and nature lovers. Last year, atleast 18 elephants were found dead on a hill in Nagaon Karbi Anglong district.
