Digital Desk: Elon Musk has urged journalists to post directly on X, the micro-blogging platform he acquired last year and which was once known as Twitter. In exchange for choosing to publish directly on X, he promised the journalists a larger salary and more freedom to write.

Taking to X, he stated, "If you're a journalist who wants more freedom to write and a higher income, then publish directly on this platform.”

Musk previously talked about plans to allow platform publishers to charge users to read their stories.

If they don't sign up for a monthly subscription, users will be charged on a "per article basis" and will ultimately pay more, he further added. However, such changes to X's policy are yet to be seen.

The AFP news agency has filed a copyright case against X in France, and this occurs as media organizations ask for a profit-sharing arrangement for social media posts-old. According to AFP, it has filed a complaint to force X to provide information that would enable it to calculate an appropriate sum of compensation.
