Before Chennai's match against Kolkata in the IPL 2023, the ex-chief selector made a major statement on CSK skipper MS Dhoni...

Digital Desk: MS Dhoni's Chennai Super Kings (CSK) will be looking to overtake table-toppers Rajasthan Royals (RR) in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023 with a win over Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) on Sunday. In match No.33 of the league, the four-time champions will square off against previous champions KKR at the renowned Eden Gardens.

Dhoni, who is already in the twilight of his legendary playing days, has ensured that CSK players deliver match-winning performances in the 16th season of the tournament. CSK star Ajinkya Rahane has managed to boost his position in the world's richest T20 competition under the supervision of the dynamic skipper.

Former chief selector Krisnamachari Srikkanth lauded Dhoni for urging his players to produce the goods in an interview with national sports media station Star Sports before of CSK's away match against KKR at the Eden Gardens. Former India cricketer Rahane also praised Dhoni, citing Rahane's example. "MS Dhoni trusts his teammates, which is why he encourages them to give their all." There are numerous such case studies, the most recent of which is that of Ajinkya Rahane. Dhoni, according to Rahane, simply advised him to enjoy his game. "And then everyone knows what Rahane did after he went out there," Srikkanth explained.

"I was overjoyed when CSK chose me. How they treat every person. I had heard from numerous players that it is truly like a family. I understand now. I had previously played under Mahi bhai (MS Dhoni) in the Indian squad, but this was my first time at CSK. "I'm having a great time: the atmosphere is the same whether we win or lose," Rahane stated. Rahane has 138 runs in four matches for the Yellow Brigade in the IPL 2023, batting with a strike rate of 181.57.
