Digital Desk:  A man allegedly duped a woman in Punjab's Amritsar into paying Rs 10 lakh.

The accused, who identified himself as a British citizen, became Manpreet Kaur's Facebook friend. He also promised the woman that he will visit her in India soon.

Manpreet was informed by the man that he had sent her a gift from the United Kingdom, which she needed to retrieve from Customs by paying Rs 10 lakh. Later, the accused duped the victim into paying the aforementioned sum under the guise of clearing the present through Customs.

The police have opened an investigation, and a case has been filed.
