  • The incident highlights the dire state of infrastructure in the region

Digital Desk: A pregnant woman in the Bodoland Territorial Region (BTR) constituency, represented by Speaker Katiram Bodo, faced a harrowing ordeal due to poor road conditions.

In Jalahbasti, under the Baganpara constituency of Baksa district, her family was forced to carry her on a wooden stretcher for one kilometer after the 108 Mrityunjoy Ambulance was unable to reach the area.

The woman, identified as Bahamati Tudu, was transported to the hospital in critical condition using a four-wheeler, highlighting the dire state of infrastructure in the region.

The pregnant woman's sufferings have revealed the failure of Katiram Bodo to address basic infrastructure needs on August 25.

Despite various promises made during the election campaign, Katiram Bodo has not initiated any developmental work in the Jalahbasti area.

After securing his seat, Katiram has remained absent from the area, and the residents of the region have not seen their representative until now.

Since his party has once again nominated him as a candidate for the upcoming elections in the Baganpara constituency, the Chautal Students' Union, along with local residents, has warned of giving a fitting response in the upcoming election.
