Digital Desk: The family of India's U-17 women's football team captain Astam Oraon will be watching television for the first time at their Jharkhand residence. The fact that they will witness their daughter captaining the nation at the FIFA Women's Under-17 World Cup makes it very remarkable.

At the Kalinga Stadium in Bhubaneswar this evening, India plays host to the dominant US.

Ms. Oraon is a native of a small village in Jharkhand's Gumla district. The district administration arranged for television and an inverter to be delivered to Ms. Oraon's house before the first match so that her family could watch her bouts.

"Ashtam is prepared for the game. Additionally, their relatives and the locals for the audience (TV and inverter given), "Gumla's office, the deputy commissioner, tweeted.

Her parents are working as laborers to build the pucca road in Ms. Oraon's hamlet, which is also receiving one for the first time.

India, one of the three tournament debutants, has secured an automatic spot in the World Cup as the host.
