Digital Desk: Former United States President Joe Biden has been diagnosed with 'aggressive' prostate cancer, his office announced on Sunday.

The 82-year-old was examined last week after he experienced increasing urinary symptoms, as per the official statement.

Prostate cancer is a form of cancer that begins in the gland cells of the prostate, which is found only in males.

Earlier this week, some media houses reported that the former President had undergone a medical test following the discovery of the prostate nodule.

The New York Times revealed that he spent Friday in a hospital in Philadelphia undergoing several examinations.

During and after his presidency, Biden has always drawn public attention for his health.

In February 2023, Biden had a lesion removed from his chest during his presidency.

Since leaving the White House in January, Biden has been away from the limelight.

Several world leaders have now expressed their concerns after the announcement.

US President Donald Trump, Biden's political rival, expressed his sadness and said that he was saddened by the news. He also extended warm wishes for his speedy recovery.

Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi also expressed his concern over Biden's diagnosis and extended best wishes for his speedy recovery.
