The gigantic replica of the musical instrument has been put in Ayodhya at a key intersection known as Lata Mangeshkar Chowk.

Digital Desk: A 14-ton, 40-foot veena has been constructed in Uttar Pradesh's Ayodhya as a tribute to famous vocalist Lata Mangeshkar on her 93rd birthday.

The musical instrument linked with Saraswati, the Goddess of Learning, has been put at the Lata Mangeshkar Chowk crossroads, which was inaugurated today by Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi was expected to virtually attend the inauguration. In addition, Union Tourism Minister G. Kishan Reddy also attended the event.

"On the occasion of Lata Didi's birth anniversary, we remember her. I recall so many interactions in which she lavished so much affection. I am delighted that a chowk in Ayodhya will be dedicated to her today. It is an appropriate tribute to one of India's greatest symbols," PM Modi stated in a tweet.

A cultural event was also scheduled at the city's Ram Katha Park, and an exhibition based on the singer's life is also on show.

Lata Mangeshkar, who was born in 1929, died on February 6, this year, at a Mumbai hospital. She received three National Awards for Best Female Playback Singer for her performances in the films Parichay, Kora Kagaz, and Lekin. Aye Mere Watan Ke Logo, a patriotic tune, is one of her most famous songs.
