The video was recorded on the street that runs between Nangal Khiladiya and Sherpur Village in the Mahilpur neighbourhood of the Chabbewal electoral district.

Digital Desk: The Punjab state government has suspended four PWD department employees after a video of road construction amid torrential rain surfaced online. On social media, a bizarre video of a guy from Hoshiarpur, Punjab, berating engineers from the province's public works department for recarpeting a road in the midst of torrential rainstorms quickly gained popularity. He told them over and over to cease working, but no one listened and went on. The video was recorded by an Aam Aadmi Party employee who promised to send it to the CM Helpline.

The video was recorded on the street that runs between Nangal Khiladiya and Sherpur Village in the Mahilpur neighbourhood of the Chabbewal electoral district. The individual who recorded the video, Gurvinder Singh, was heard requesting that the workers refrain from constructing the road in the rain. The workers and the officer-in-charge present simply disregarded him and carried on with their task.

News Agency ANI posted a video that lasted one minute and 20 seconds long. In the video, Gurvinder stated that he would get the contractor's name, phone number, and address. He questioned a worker about the road's stability as it was being built through torrential rain. When the employee remained silent, he turned to the man operating the road roller and yelled, "Have some shame, Sardar Ji. The public's hard-earned money is being wasted by you. This is the Hoshiarpur-based Aggarwal Construction Company.

"The person in charge indicated they had a truck of material ready to be used," he continued. It had to be put to use. But they squandered a significant amount of taxpayer money utilising the vehicle that was loaded with materials.

Four engineers were suspended by the Public Works Department, according to the letter of suspension that The Tribune obtained. A road in District Hoshiarpur is being built during rain, according to a video that has gone popular on social media, according to the order. Sub Divisional Engineer Tarsem Singh, Junior Engineer Vipan Kumar, Junior Engineer Parveen Kumar, and Junior Engineer Jasbir Singh were the four engineers that received suspensions.

It is noteworthy because water is regarded as asphalt's worst enemy when utilised to construct roadways. Potholes are produced when water slowly erodes asphalt, which leads to their continued growth. If such a road is constructed in the rain, the asphalt won't form any bonds and will be washed away by the water.
