Digital Desk: On Friday, four terrorists were shot dead while attempting to cross into India from Pakistan-occupied Kashmir in the Kala Jungle area of the Machhal sector of Jammu & Kashmir's Kupwara district.

The Indian Army and police worked collaboratively to execute a coordinated operation to kill the terrorists.

“In a joint operation, Army and Police have killed four terrorists in Kala Jungle of Machhal sector in Kupwara who were trying to infiltrate to our side from POJK,” Police in Kashmir Zone said.

Only a few days prior, on 16 in the Kupwara district, five militants were killed in a clash with security troops.

In a press conference following the operation, Maj Gen Girish Kalia, the general officer commanding the Vajra Division, said that India and Pakistan had reached a cease-fire. But recently, they (the military) have been receiving a lot of intelligence about possible infiltration from outside the LoC.
