According to reports, the firing caused a few injuries in Tangjeng and along the Bishnupur-Churachadpur border.

Digital Desk: Fresh shooting was reported in the border villages of Bishnupur and Churachadpur on May 31 amid Union Home Minister Amit Shah's visit to Manipur.

According to reports, the firing caused a few injuries in Tangjeng and along the Bishnupur-Churachadpur border.

One person died from bullet injuries and another was hurt earlier on May 24 in the Thamnapok region of the Bishnupur district when alleged militants opened fire from a hillside at Thamnapokpi.

Kuldeip Singh, the security adviser to the Manipur government, told the media during a press conference at the Chief Minister's secretariat that on May 24 at around 1:00 AM, suspected armed militants had descended from the hill towards the Molngat foothill or Tronglaobi under Phougakchao Ikhai Police Station in the Bishnupur district. About three abandoned homes had been destroyed by fire.

Houses belonging to other communities were destroyed in retaliation in the surrounding villages of Phougakchao, Tronglaobi, and Phaijangvai. Those homes have already suffered damage or are partially burnt.
