Digital Desk: Google released the top searches for the year 2023 just before it ended. It shows the topics, questions, and areas of interest that led to the most searches on Indian websites. Google's list of the top trending searches in India includes Chandrayaan-3 and G20, which attracted the attention of netizens.


"News events were dominated by the remarkable achievement of Chandrayaan-3, whose rocket-like ascent out of space sparked searches both locally and globally. India's G20 presidency led 'What Is' search queries showcasing significant curiosity towards the event," according to the `Year in Search 2023' blog released by Google on Monday.


Other news-related searches revealed that individuals kept up of regional developments, such as the results of the Karnataka elections and the Uniform Civil Code, while many others attempted to make sense of world events by searching for information on the Israel News and the Turkey Earthquake.

"This year, our interest in cricket reached a new height as we asked more questions than ever before concerning the Cricket World Cup and the India vs Australia match. But the love for Indian cricket was truly seen across borders," said the blog.


The only cricket team to appear on our list of international sports teams is the India National Cricket Team, which is now the most popular trending team in the globe. Locally and internationally, Shubman Gill and Rachin Ravindra were the most popular cricketers on-trend.
