A fruit vendor got arrested in the Nagpur District of Maharashtra, for allegedly treating Covid-19 patients on the pretext of being a doctor.

Chandan Naresh Chaudhary, who hails from Kamthi area of Nagpur, used to sell fruits and ice cream.

The vendor was also running a charitable dispensary named Om Narayana Multipurpose Society for the last five years where he provided Ayurveda naturopathic treatment to patients.

Taking advantage of the ongoing pandemic situation in the country, this fake doctor started treating Covid-19 patients at his dispensary in Nagpur district of Maharashtra.

The matter came to light when someone acquainted with him complained about the matter to the district police.

After receiving the information, police conducted raid at Chaudhary's dispensary and arrested him for posing as a fake doctor. Police also seized oxygen cylinders, syringes and other medical equipment from his dispensary.
