Digital Desk: After flying it on an atmospheric balloon, Space Kidz India (SKI) successfully unfurled the G20 flag near the edge of space. Students who had also launched a cargo on the flight unfurled the flag at an altitude of 30 kilometres above sea level.

This accomplishment follows on the heels of the organization's milestone last year when it hoisted the Indian flag at an altitude of 30 kilometres to commemorate the country's 76th Independence Day.

The most recent milestone occurs as India assumes the G20 Presidency, demonstrating the country's commitment to developing international collaboration and addressing global concerns.

"As India leads this international effort, SKI is proud to contribute to this legacy by uplifting the G20 flag as a beacon of unity and aspiration," the group stated.

Space Kidz India has launched 19 balloon satellites, 3 sub-orbital satellites, and 4 orbital satellites, allowing students to gain international experience in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM).

Space Kidz India had earlier succeeded in not only flying a balloon to an altitude of nearly 100,000 feet but also in unfurling the Indian flag and filming it in temperatures ranging from -55 degrees Celsius to -3 degrees Celsius.

The 15-foot balloon carrying a parachute and a payload bay containing the flag was built in about 10 days.
