Do not use Tulsi leaves:
According to Hindu mythology, Lord Ganesha had once cursed the Tulsi plant. Therefore, offering Tulsi leaves during Ganesh Puja is considered forbidden.
Use whole rice, instead of broken rice:
Never offer broken rice during the puja. Only whole, unbroken rice grains should be used.
Do not use black or blue colours:
Wearing or using black or blue-coloured clothes and items during Ganesh Puja is considered inauspicious.
Avoid plastic idols:
Devotees should use idols made of clay only, as plastic idols are considered inappropriate and harmful to the environment.
Do not keep two idols of Lord Ganesha at home:
Keeping two main idols of Lord Ganesha in the same household is not advised.
