Guwahati: A tanker carrying drinking water overturned after hitting the pavement last night on Ganeshguri flyover causing massive traffic snarl. The water tanker hit the pavement causing a loud sound following which the Dispur police reached the spot to clear out the road for the traffic to smoothly move ahead.
A part of the road was damaged due to the accident. On reaching the accident spot, the police found the driver and handyman missing, suspecting them to have escaped, leaving behind the vehicle after causing the accident.
The water tanker bearing no. AS 01 AA 1251 was later taken away by the police.
