Desk: On Thursday morning, Basistha police seized the
school bus involved in a hit-and-run accident in Guwahati's Ganeshguri
neighbourhood that claimed the life of a schoolgirl.
The school bus with the registration number 'AS-01-PC-7411' is
registered to Royal Global School in Lokhra.
The bus driver, identified as Bipul Boro, has been arrested,
according to authorities.
In connection with the incident, the bus's handyman has also been
detained.
The event occurred as the
girl headed to school with her elder sister. According to sources, a speeding
school bus crashed with the scooter they were riding in before fleeing the
scene.
While the minor girl was killed on the scene, her sibling was seriously
injured and was taken to the hospital for treatment.
Priya Kumari, a class 11 student of Little Flower School in the city's
Hatigaon district, has been identified as the deceased student.
The accident happened in front of the Rajdhani Masjid in Ganeshguri.
