Priya Kumari, a class 11 student of Little Flower School in the city's Hatigaon neighbourhood, has been identified as the deceased student.


Digital Desk: A class 11 student was tragically killed in a hit-and-run accident in Guwahati's Ganeshguri area on Thursday morning.

 

The event occurred as the girl headed to school with her elder sister. According to sources, a speeding school bus crashed with the scooter they were riding in before fleeing the scene.

 

While the minor girl was killed on the scene, her sibling was seriously injured and was taken to the hospital for treatment.

The incident happened in front of the Rajdhani Masjid in Ganeshguri. Apart from the bus's rapid speed, angry locals blamed the tragedy on the availability of dug-up walkways in the region.

 

According to reports, a Royal Global School bus with the registration number 'AS-01-PC-7411' was engaged in the hit-and-run.

 

Local police responded quickly and are assessing the situation.
