Digital Desk: In the presence of Assam's governor, Sri Gulab Chand Kataria, at the Khanapara veterinary field, Chief Minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma conferred the State National Service Scheme (NSS) Award for 2021–2022 to the outstanding members of the NSS Cell during the 75th Republic Day Celebrations in Guwahati.

In the university category, Dr. Ranjan Kumar Kakati, Director of Students' Welfare and Coordinator of the NSS Program at Gauhati University NSS Cell, received the award for his exceptional work in the social services and community sector.

The State NSS Award was given to three members of the Gauhati University NSS Cell who are Programme Officers: Md. Ayez Ali of Pub Kamrup College, Dr. Rumamoni Deka of S.B. Deorah College, and Dr. Aswini Kumar Deka of Rangapara College.

The State NSS Award was also given to Rituraj Baruah of Assam Agricultural University and Dr. Amar Upadhyaya of Dibrugarh University.

The Honourable Chief Minister of Assam presented the State NSS Award to the volunteers, Doli Choudhury of the Gauhati University campus NSS unit, Jayanta Das of North Guwahati College, Sayanika Bharadwaj of Behali Degree College, Mehfuz Ali of S.B. Deorah College, Himanshu Saikia of Digboi College, Niha Boro of LGB Girls College, Priyanus Hazarika of Dibrugarh University, Arjun Roy of Tezpur University, Susmita Morang of Madhabdev University, and Upasana Sarma of Assam Agricultural University. They are the laborers at the local level who contribute to society through community service.

This recognition highlights the value of community service in creating a better future for the country while also honoring the accomplishments of the NSS Cell.
